Karolina Osztoics
Biography
My name is Karolina, I am a bachata and salsa instructor from Hungary. My interest in dance and music started since I was a little girl, I always enjoyed doing “the show”, I did choreographies to show my family and friends, I sang songs from the radio, from the movies, etc.
I spent a few years during my adolescence in various theater groups, participating in musicals, I think that’s where my passion for art began to grow. I was lucky enough to try different types of dances: jazz ballet, zumba and ballroom dancing. But none caught my attention as much as the Caribbean dances.
In 2016 I went to live in Santo Domingo for a year, with a school exchange program. During that year I learned Spanish and also the basics of merengue, bachata and salsa.
I have not stopped learning since then, I focused on Cuban and Dominican dances. I was fortunate to learn from the best teachers, and I am still in the process of improving as a dancer and teacher every day.
The Dominican Republic became my second home and my mission is to share its energy and joy through dance.
